A practical letter-writing workshop for youth SDG and UHC advocates
As part of the 2024 UHC Day Campaign, UHC2030, CSEM and the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), with the support of the WHO Youth Council, are hosting a youth-focused workshop on empowering young SDG and universal health coverage (UHC) advocates and providing them with guidance and practical skills to write impactful advocacy letters for UHC.
This 1-hour workshop will include hands-on exercises for participants to effectively craft hooks and key asks for their governments to accelerate action on UHC and financial protection. During the workshop, advocacy experts will provide participants with feedback on their letters and share guidance on how to:
- Prepare letters that are specific to their country’s context,
- Use UHC2030 messaging, and
- Coordinate follow-up strategies.
Participants are encouraged to come to the workshop prepared with a draft advocacy letter and brainstorm one to two key asks for decision-makers in their country that are related to health, UHC and financial protection.
