The 5th Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Universal Health Coverage and Global Health
Ensuring UHC with adequate protection from financial hardship is critical for promoting good health and addressing both present and future health challenges.
At the United Nations General Assembly in September, world leaders will convene at the High-level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the Summit of the Future to make important commitments for our future health and well-being. Equity is a thread woven throughout both, with sustainable financing as the key to unlocking progress towards our shared health goals.
This in-person side event will serve as a platform for UHC champions to share best practices of UHC reforms in their respective countries to improve financial risk protection and further explore how UHC programmes can contribute to efforts to tackle emerging challenges such as AMR. It is co-hosted by the co-chairs of the Group of Friends of UHC and Global Health (Georgia, Japan and Thailand) and co-sponsored by WHO and UHC2030. It will be moderated by the UHC2030 Co-Chair, Dr Pamela Cipriano.
