UHC2030 invites you to participate in an online consultation to inform the Action Agenda from the UHC Movement.

UHC Action Agenda public consultation

In 2019, world leaders endorsed the most ambitious and comprehensive political declaration on health in history at the United Nations High-Level Meeting on universal health coverage. It committed for all people to have access to quality, essential, effective and affordable health services and commodities without experiencing financial hardship and without discrimination by 2030.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, progress on universal coverage was off track, and the pandemic has further widened inequities in access to health services that people need. The three UN High-Level Meetings on health in 2023 (universal health coverage; pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response; and tuberculosis) represent a crucial political opportunity to emphasize the value of universal health coverage to strengthen national and international resilience and improve health security.

The UN High-Level Meeting 2023 Task Force brings together a group of twenty representatives from UHC constituencies and beyond committed to accelerate progress towards delivering health for all. They have worked together with the UHC2030 Secretariat, supported by Chatham House, to prepare From Commitment to Action: Universal Health Coverage Action Agenda, building on the Key Asks developed in 2019 by the UHC2030 Movement, and based on the latest key findings from the State of UHC Commitment Review 2022, latest research, and inputs from key stakeholders. This Action Agenda will be presented to the President of the UN General Assembly as an official input into the draft Political Declaration.

Have your say!

UHC2030 invites you to participate, as an individual or a representative of your country, organisation, or community, to provide feedback on the high-level political messages in the Action Agenda. The consultation should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The consultation will be open until 6th February 2023 and will be available in English, French and Spanish.

The President of the General Assembly will host an interactive multi-stakeholder hearing on UHC in April 2023. The Summary Report from the hearing constitutes an official input for the drafting the Political Declaration on UHC.

Intergovernmental negotiations on the Political Declaration on UHC will start shortly after the hearing and should close by the end of July 2023.
